These passion fruit martinis can be made in a matter of minutes and are so delicious that your friends and family will keep asking for them. These martinis are great for either a formal dinner or a casual evening on the patio.

What is Passion Fruit Martini?

A martini, a cocktail made mostly with gin or vermouth, has evolved to include many flavors over time. While some people love vodka martinis, others prefer them with garnishes such as olives, lemon twists, limes, or mint. My passion fruit martini, which is less alcoholic than the original, is more fun and refreshing. This martini has just gin as the base. It’s then topped with passion fruit juice and fresh orange juice for extra flavor and tanginess.

A passion fruit cocktail should not be too sweet. Fresh passion fruit can sometimes overpower the entire cocktail. It’s delicious and balanced to add sweet orange juice to the passion fruit.

How to make a great Passion Fruit Martini

These quick and easy passionfruit martinis can be made using your favorite gin (I used Hendricks), fresh squeezed orange juice, passion fruit, and some mint for garnish. To make your passion fruit cocktail even more refreshing, you can add ice cubes.

In a cocktail shaker, add two shots of gin. Add the passion fruit pulp and orange juice. If desired, add the ginger and a few cubes of ice. Mix well until the passion fruit cocktail is frothy.

You have two choices. Either pour the passion fruit martini into two glasses, leaving the passion fruit seeds and bits behind, or strain the cocktail. I prefer the passion fruit seeds and orange pulp in my passionfruit martini so I leave them alone. However, I understand that some people prefer a smoother cocktail. It’s perfectly fine.

You can also choose the best cocktail glass. A coupe glass is my preference, as it looks more elegant. However, a traditional V-shaped martini glass works well.

You can make a quick and simple passion fruit martini using fresh passion fruits and oranges. This refreshing summer passion fruit cocktail is perfect for a special evening with family and friends.

(USA / Metric)

  • 1 medium passion fruit
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 2 jiggers (1.5 fl oz) Hendricks Gin
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 8 leaves of fresh mint (optional)

  1. In a cocktail shaker, place the flesh of the passion fruit.
  2. The freshly squeezed orange juice, ginger, and gin should be added. If you prefer a chilled cocktail, add a few cubes of ice. Mix well until it becomes frothy.
  3. Place the passion fruit martini in two glasses. If you don’t want the pulp or seeds, strain the cocktail. They are my favorite so I just poured the cocktail into my glass. Two coupe glasses were used, but martini glasses are also possible.
  4. Serve immediately with fresh mint.
